The minimum salary offered for this position is £400 per day however the client may pay up to £400 per day to those candidates who can meet all key qualifications and abilities

SHE Manager; Telecommunications Site Access & Security

Day Rate Contract to start immediately; £350-400 Ltd Co Rate

Anticipated contract term is 6 months commencing Jan 20

Location; Winchester, Hampshire, UK

The Company

Our client, a UK telecommunications company that provides infrastructure and broadcast transmission facilities, commercial WiFi and smart meter facilities, is undertaking a major business transformation program which will include the replacement or reengineering of a large part of its existing business (BSS) and operational support system (OSS) and underlying IT Infrastructure estate.

The Role

To provide proactive professional advice and support on SHE issues related to wireless site access and physical security to ensure best practice and a consistent approach to SHE is adopted throughout the business and legal compliance is maintained

Must Haves

· Lead the SHE direction and process for areas of allocated responsibility either by topic or business area

· Create effective relationships with internal customers to deliver and agree relevant levels of support

· Identify and agree priorities for improvement as well as the active monitoring plan

· Review, analyse, investigate and close accident, incident and near miss reports within agreed SLAs to identify areas for improvement and communicate lessons learnt

· Report on SHE performance for areas of responsibility for SHE team and internal stakeholder use

· Lead the development and maintenance within the business of the SHE management systems. Ensure compliance and continued accreditation to ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and OHSAS 18001

· Design and deliver an effective process for the identification and review of new or updated legislation or other industry requirements and specific responsibility for implementing requirement is given to the most appropriate SHE team member

· Communicate policy changes to the business and develop and deliver the required training in a cost-effective way

· Manage working groups to allocate responsibility for setting policy, improving processes, reviewing performance and communicate the output across the business

· Represent Arqiva at external industry forums and meetings

· Drive and deliver team engagement

The ideal candidate will be/have;

· Chartered member of IOSH is desirable

· Good understanding and practical experience of applying SHE legislation applicable to the clients business activities

· Excellent knowledge and practical experience of management systems

· Ability to lead and manage specialist team

· Ability to present confidently and effectively to internal customers and large audiences

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to influence senior management teams and other stakeholders within area of expertise


The anticipated contract pay rate for the candidate (Ltd Co rate) who meets all-of-the requirements will be from £350 up to a maximum of £400 per day worked inclusive of any travel and accommodation expenses (if working away from home base)
