The Company
An international, market leader in the design and manufacturer of advanced bespoke special purpose production machinery who serve a range of different industries such as: manufacturing, production, pharmaceutical processing, chemical processing, food processing, medical, FMCG etc.

The Role
A full time position within a Technical Sales department for graduate or junior engineers looking to develop within a sales engineering environment.
This is a technically challenging mechanical engineering office based role, the work will be generally in, but not limited to, the following areas: -
Application Sales Support
Seeking the support & guidance of the Sales Management team -Assist colleagues with complex quotes ensuring correct pricing, adequate lead times and well thought out applications, so avoiding potential issues
Liaise with Engineering to identify local or international standards that apply
Provide supporting data in the form of photos, drawings and information from similar systems and/or third party suppliers
Review & analyse Technical/Engineering Specifications in order to identify areas of concern or exceptions to the specification and how the equipment would need to be modified in order to meet the specification
Contact customers post quotation to assist in maximizing the chance of closing the sale
Large Project Support - in terms of buy-out item sourcing and vendor quote analysis.
In-House Test Coordination
Provide test lab support when a customer product is to be tested
Send out test request forms, outline test goals, protocols & equipment, schedule test with the test lab, customer and colleagues
Design and/or work with engineering/production to have any special equipment produced
Work with colleagues to produce sales presentations and test results
Manage Quick Ship Inquiries
Provide Quick Ship program quotes for suitable applications
Follow-up all other aspects of the project, including preparing the order and handing over to production
Service Support
Provide application and communication assistance to service department as & when required
Sales Order Follow-up Process Support
Support colleagues in review of Sales Orders to ensure readiness for handover to Engineering
Attendance of Sales Order Handover meeting as and when required
Assist colleagues in entering Change Orders
Project Co-ordination
Monitor sales orders through Production & Engineering phases
Serve as point of contact for queries between Customer, Sales and Engineering/Production
For larger orders, organize weekly meetings, maintain Gantt charts & open issues reports
Communicate with Purchasing and prompt expedition when required
Support colleagues at handover to generate an Advanced Buy list and issue to purchasing to ensure adherence to delivery schedule
Other Unspecified Activities
General sales related tasks required by department manager - as and when necessary in support of the company’ s activities.

The Candidate
A Mechanical Engineering degree with strong communication abilities.
A strong technical knowledge of: mechanical engineering, mechanical manufacturing &/or mechanical design
Strong communication & presentation abilities
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work as part of a team and create effective working relationships
Well-developed time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
Technical Engineer, Analytical Thinker & Problem Solver
Proven experience in interpreting data and presenting it for decision making/problem solving.
Software Skills: Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Technical Applications or Engineering Sales Experience
French/German language skills
Knowledge of: Materials Handling, Process Industries, Powder Handling, Liquid Handling, Bulk Handling Food Production Equipment, FMCG Machinery, Robotics, Industrial Automation, Conveyors or Special Purpose Machinery
