The Company

Our West Sussex based company is a leader in the design and manufacture of high cost, low volume captial equipment. Due to continued growth they require a Production Test Manager to work between the engineering and production teams.

The successful candidate will be responsibe for the development of factory acceptance procedures and processes, and help in the design, development and procurement of test equipment, rigs and fixtures.

The Role

Plan and coordinate production engineering processes on daily basis to produce high quality products.

Develop process improvements to effectively utilise equipment and materials to maximise production efficiency and productivity.

Develop operational strategies to achieve production and financial objectives.

Identify unsafe operations and practices and report the same to Manager immediately.

Provide engineering support for production activities to ensure maximum production efficiency and productivity.

Perform engineering analysis to reduce test equipment and production assembly equipment downtime and outages.

Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements.

Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards.

Develop standard operating instructions, build sheets and equipment specifications for production activities.

Provides training and guidance to team members to accomplish production goals.

Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes.

Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability.

Investigate problems, analyse root causes and derive resolutions.

Aid in budget preparation and monitor expenses and profitability.

The Candidate

Experience of producing test procedures for electromechanical systems.

An ability to interpret technical requirements and recommend an appropriate test strategy.

A proven ability to design and fault-find electromechanical equipment.

An ability to read complex technical drawings both wiring/PCB schematics and Mechanical Drawings.

Familiarity with using essential fault finding and debugging equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes)

A bias towards electrical/electronics and software disciplines but with a sound understanding of mechanical principles.

HND with relevant production engineering content

Experience of writing test documentation and procedures to prove compliance with technical specifications

Practical experience in a role involving fault finding of electromechanical equipment.

Practical experience of developing microcontroller based solutions.

High level of competency with Microsoft Office

Experience in designing and developing electrical test equipment.
