Electronics Technician

The minimum salary offered for this position is £25,000 pa however the client may pay up to £28,000 pa to those candidates who can meet all key qualifications and abilities

Our client is well established company that manufactures electronic technologies that are utilised within robotics and automated production machinery. They are currently going through a strong period of growth and are looking to employ an Electronics Technician to join their team.

The Role

The successful candidate will be required to support development Engineers by constructing prototype electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies using various lead-free soldering and other techniques, fault finding and modification of electronic circuits, ordering and stockkeeping of parts for development Engineering use. Documentation of newly developed tasks/techniques.

Duties include:

Be responsible for the creation and modification of small pre-production batches of new or modified products.

Support development engineers by providing manual soldering and hand-assembly of surface mount (down to 0402 case size) circuit board assemblies.

Design and build prototype/ test PCBs

Support development engineers as above by providing manual assembly skills such as drilling, tapping, gluing, cable preparation, etc.

Build one off jigs and wiring assemblies for engineers.

Complete set up and building of work and/or test benches.

Working with team to design, procure, prepare and ship trade show items including demos to meet tight deadlines.

Navigate and interpret schematic diagrams of electronic circuits and also PCB layout diagrams.

Transfer the knowledge acquired in prototype assembly to Senior Quality Engineer for the purpose of producing production documentation.

The Candidate

At least 3 years experience as an electronics technician

Soldering skills

Cable harness building skills

Has good crimping skills / willing to learn to use new tools

Fault finding experience

The Package

Offering a salary between £25,000 to £28,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
