The Company

A specialist engineering company that is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the growing team.



Responsibilities:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a vital role in the research and development of the company products. Your responsibilities will include:

Designing and developing bespoke fixtures for internal use and sale to customers as part of a new product range.

Contributing to the further development, of our high-accuracy test equipment, by identifying design improvements and developing future generations of the product.

Collaborating closely with the testing team and customers to define and capture design specifications and requirements.

Creating 3D CAD parts and assemblies using SolidWorks software.

Prototyping and building designs in our workshop using 3D printers, Haas CNC mill, and other machine tools.

Conducting testing and validation of designs for functionality and ease of manufacturing (DFM).

Generating 2D CAD detail and assembly drawings and associated Bills of Materials (BOMs) for in-house and external manufacturing.



The Candidate

Bachelor's degree in a related science or engineering field, with experience in mechanical design

2+ years of experience in design engineering

Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or similar).

Knowledge of rapid prototyping and manufacturing processes (3D printing, CNC machining, etc.).

Solid understanding of design and engineering principles (mechanics, stress analysis, heat transfer, etc.).

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and independently within a cross-functional team environment.

 



The Package

The salary offered for this position is £28,000- £34,000 pa plus benefits and bonus to a candidate who can meet all key qualifications and abilities.
