The Company

A market-leading machinery manufacturer experiencing strong growth is looking to expand its design team.



The Role and Duties

3D design for both standard and custom machines on a project-by-project basis.

Implementing design changes in line with internal processes.

Presenting designs at review stages.

Assisting with equipment testing as required.

Developing design solutions to support the sales team.

Conducting feasibility studies for new concepts.

Working on new design concepts to enhance equipment capabilities or reduce manufacturing costs.

Compiling and updating Bills of Materials in both CAD modelling and MRP/ERP systems.

Collaborating within a project team, maintaining responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle.

Ensuring all project documentation is complete and accessible for relevant departments.

Managing design projects within target hours and schedules.

Undertaking additional tasks as required, within the scope of the role.



The Candidate

3D & 2D CAD design experience, preferably with Autodesk Inventor.

Experience with the design of special-purpose machinery would be great.

Broad experience in multiple design areas,

Ability to create efficient and cost-effective designs.

Experience designing complex assemblies and sub-assemblies.

Proficiency in tolerances and fits

Pneumatic circuit design and component selection.

Experience in cable management, routing, and electrical component integration.

Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.

Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems, CAD data management, and MS Office.

Understanding of design change processes.

Experience in DFMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) and value engineering.
