A leading engineering company looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer.
The Role
It is likely you will be deployed week to week to different locations, mainly around the UK and Ireland but you should expect overseas travel on occasion especially to the USA and Canada. Weekend working is not usual but on overseas trips you should expect this, although Sundays you’ll typically have off to enjoy the local sites!
Overseas installations typically take 2-3 weeks.
When you’re not out on site, you’ll be in our busy workshop preparing for the next installation or will perform he role of a senior mechanical fitter reporting to the production manager and helping to mentor junior team members.
Your responsibilities include:
Support/lead the build effort for onsite installations, target resources accordingly, prepare the project to be commissioned - including mechanical installation/electrical containment.
Supervise onsite teams in the absence of the services director, escalating issues as appropriate.
Produce daily site reports – regarding work completed, outstanding and any non-conformities (rework)
Set and manage daily/weekly milestones (where applicable) for work to be completed as scheduled.
Liaise with customers to identify and complete any deviation from original scope and record.
Work with the team, and customer to get the project commissioned, snags completed and (SAT Site Acceptance Test) completed.
Carry out preinstall work.
The Candidate
Solid experience directly installing industrial machinery/conveyors.
Electrical experience not essential but a plus
Confident traveller & happy with approx. 70% travel (rest of the time, factory based here – so must live within a commutable distance)
No criminal convictions that prevent overseas travel
British/EU Passport Holder (need to be able to freely enter the USA/Canada without visa)
The Package
The salary offered for this position is £30,000- £36,000 if a candidate can meet all key qualifications and abilities.
