A well-established engineering company that provides electronic solutions to a broad range of manufacturing companies. They are seeking an Electronics focused Applications Engineer to help identify new business opportunities and provide technical support to customers.
The Role
To find new customers and new business in current markets as well as new markets / opportunities by conducting research in our current customer base. In addition to exploring online opportunities for growth by proactive selling and providing
technical knowledge on our product range.
Accountabilities:
Identifying new opportunities and developing new business/accounts by proactive telephone/email selling and with regular market research
Working closely with marketing and sales teams to devise campaigns to find new opportunities / applications and to develop improved customer
relationships
Assist with any technical enquiries from website, live chat, telephone calls, emails and all other enquiry streams.
Providing quotes, taking orders, giving advice and recommending products to fit applications
Visiting exhibitions as required
Provide support to the internal sales team by sharing workload on a day to day basis
Maintaining the CRM database with current events with each customer including telephone/contact reports and RFQ’s to keep the record current
Maintain a good technical competence on products
Maintain knowledge of competitors’ products
Look to help develop product ranges by identifying potential new suppliers
Proactively contact existing customer to advise of changes to product specs/pricing/lead times or other relevant information.
The Candidate
An electronic engineering qualification or technical knowledge within electronics
Experience of working in a customer facing role
Experience of working on tenders / quotations is highly beneficial
Good written and verbal communication in English
The Package
Offering up to £32,000 plus private medical, bonus, hybrid working and flexible working hours.
