Our client is a well-established distributor of instrumentation into the engineering sector. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team to develop sales with existing customers and develop new business.
The Role
Responsible for generating sales of their range of instrumentation.
Build and maintain customer and prospect relationships within the UK and Northern Ireland.
Ensure that the products are made available in the market by analysing the trends of the customers and developing sales plans and strategies to meet their needs.
Prepare, discuss and agree quarterly: the business plan for the sales region with senior management.
Report weekly sales pipeline to Head of Business Development.
Maintain sales leads, opportunities and quotations in the CRM tool.
Hold regular meetings with all UK customers and prospects, and foster and maintain these relationships.
Examine existing sales to establish missing sales opportunities.
Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education to existing and prospective customers.
Prepare quotations to customers.
Maintain a professional awareness of competitor’s product developments.
Attend product training days as required for all equipment.
The Candidate
Engineering qualifications
Proven track record of technical sales in engineering
Ability to generate new business, chase leads and develop own business plans
Strong communication skills
Willingness to travel to customer sites
The Package
Up to £40k basic plus uncapped commission
