Embedded Software Engineer

A dynamic and expanding engineering company, leading the way in advanced technical solutions, is seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer. The primary focus of the role is developing C++ code for embedded electronic systems and products.The RoleDesign and develop robust software in C/C++ for embedded platformsCreate and maintain technical documentation to support design decisionsEnsure software operates reliably and meets functional specificationsShape the long-term direction of software architecture and capabilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative technology within real-world constraintsDevelop and maintain test suites, including unit and integration testsImplement and troubleshoot hardware interfaces and data protocols (e.g., CAN, UART, TCP/IP)Build and maintain user-facing applications using both commercial and open-source toolkitsWork closely with hardware and firmware engineers to align system-level behaviourAssist in scoping projects, breaking down requirements, and mentoring junior engineersThe CandidateStrong experience programming in C++ for embedded systemsExperienced with testing practices and toolsExperience working in Linux-based environmentsExposure to platforms like Xilinx or PetaLinux whighly beneficial, but not essentialA collaborative team player with an eye for clean, maintainable codeThe OfferOffering up to £65000, hybrid working model with flexible working hours, private medical cover and relocation support available.
