Job Description
As a Mechanical Design Engineer (EMECH) at my client's company, you will be responsible for supporting design and manufacturing processes through mechanical engineering expertise. Ideally, you will have demonstrable CAD experience, particularly in SolidWorks, although candidates with a background in electrical/electronic engineering coupled with some mechanical aptitude will also be considered.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with the design team to understand project requirements and provide mechanical support for product development.

Utilize CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, to create detailed mechanical designs and engineering drawings for electronic components and assemblies.

Assist in the integration of mechanical components with electronic systems, ensuring compatibility, functionality, and optimal performance.

Conduct basic electrical/electronic tasks as needed to support project requirements, such as wiring, soldering, and component testing.

Participate in design reviews and provide input on mechanical aspects to enhance product quality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.

Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure a smooth transition from design to production, addressing any mechanical challenges that may arise.

Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components for mechanical assemblies, ensuring adherence to quality and performance standards.

Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in both mechanical and electronic engineering fields, incorporating innovative solutions into designs as appropriate.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Demonstrable CAD experience, preferably with SolidWorks, and a strong understanding of mechanical design principles.

Basic knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and components, with a willingness to learn and expand skills in this area.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex issues and propose effective solutions.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks concurrently.

Prior experience in electronics manufacturing or high-performance engineering environments is advantageous but not essential.

Open to candidates ranging from new graduates to more experienced professionals seeking a dynamic and challenging role in a specialised industry.
