The Role:
The primary objective of this position is to ensure that the Engineering team consistently meets service levels that guarantee on-time delivery and complete customer satisfaction across all aspects of manufacturing and commercial commitments.

A crucial part of the role is to foster a culture of continuous improvement, enabling measurable and sustainable changes that add value and eliminate waste, ultimately enhancing customer satisfaction and profitability.

Main Responsibilities:
• Process information to generate quotations for IPC610 class 3 electronic assemblies.
• Create work instructions using the AEGIS MES system and develop expertise to fully leverage MES tools for improving production processes.
• Accurately produce Bills of Materials (BOMs) from customer documentation to facilitate precise and timely costings for materials and assembly.
• Develop processes and techniques to expedite quotation turnaround times.
• Utilize BOM management software to provide accurate component data and generate customer-specific reports on RoHS, conflict minerals, lifecycle, obsolescence, and counterfeit risks.
• Produce build reports and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) documentation according to customer requirements.
• Analyse discrepancies between quoted and actual production times; propose optimizations to enhance quality and meet time targets while ensuring safe manufacturing practices.
• Support customers with returned goods by producing repair documentation and tracking product progress through the factory.
• Manage product configuration through Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and concessions, ensuring effective implementation and control.
• Identify critical path issues and drive actions to achieve timely resolution.
• Implement practices that ensure first-time right delivery to customers.
• Coordinate and foster teamwork to support customer needs, from fast-turn prototypes to volume production.
• Collaborate with other departments to address bespoke customer requirements.
• Ensure adherence to the agreed New Product Introduction (NPI) process as per QMS 1013 standards.
• Uphold quality principles and standards throughout the manufacturing process.
• Establish and maintain continuous improvement programs across all engineering activities.
• Provide reliable and quantifiable estimated labour times for assembling new products.
• Contribute to specifying process consumables used throughout the company.
• Implement effective configuration and data management processes.
• Specify and procure necessary tooling requirements.
• Offer support to production staff as needed.
• Identify and eliminate waste in all engineering processes.

Skills and Experience:
Degree in a relevant field and/or experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
Strong understanding of manufacturing environments.
In-depth knowledge of electronic components.
Expertise in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
Experience with ERP systems and database management.
Proven track record of managing multiple projects.
Prior experience in a similar role.
Electro-mechanical knowledge is a strong advantage.

Salary
The salary offered for this position is £40,000- £45,000 if a candidate can meet all key qualifications and abilities.
