A growing engineering organisation at the forefront of advanced manufacturing is looking for a Software Engineer whose primary focus will be the development of in-house software tools and their integration with manufacturing hardware and equipment. The role supports automation, data capture, and continuous improvement across production operations.Based in Crawley, this is a great opportunity to build a long-term career with clear development and progression opportunities.The RoleDevelop and maintain in-house software tools for manufacturing operationsIntegrate software with manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and hardwareWork closely with Manufacturing, Production, Quality, Automation, IT, and NPI teamsSupport automation of data collection, reporting, and real-time monitoringContribute to continuous improvement projects and new product introductionsCreate and maintain technical documentation and manage version controlProvide training and ongoing support to end usersAbout YouDegree in Software, Electrical Engineering, or similar (or equivalent experience)1+ years’ software development experience in a manufacturing or engineering environmentExperience with Python or similar, Visual Studio, and Git/SVNStrong SQL Server skills for querying, reporting, and data analysisUnderstanding of manufacturing processes and production workflowsA collaborative problem-solver with good communication skillsDesirable (Not Essential)ERP / PLM systems (JDE, Enovia, Oracle)NPD experience or exposure to Emerson productsAgile, Power Automate, or cybersecurity awarenessElectronics or embedded systems knowledgeThe Package£30,000 – £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
