Mechanical Design EngineerSittingbourne, Kent£40,000 – £60,000 per annumOur client is a well-established special purpose machinery manufacturer based in Sittingbourne. Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand their design team with a Mechanical Design Engineer.You will take ownership of the mechanical design of automated equipment and associated components. The role involves creating 3D models and producing detailed 2D manufacturing drawings, working closely with the wider engineering and production teams on both standard and bespoke projects.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign of automated equipment and mechanical assembliesCreation of 3D CAD models and detailed 2D manufacturing drawingsApplication of materials knowledge, assembly tolerances and Design for Manufacture principlesLiaising with suppliers, customers and internal teamsSupporting the full design process from concept through to productionCandidate RequirementsProven experience designing automated equipment and engineering componentsStrong understanding of materials and assembly tolerances within a manufacturing environmentProficient in 3D design software (SolidWorks preferred), others consideredAbility to produce accurate 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawingsGood communication skills when dealing with suppliers and customersPackageSalary: £40,000 – £60,000 depending on experience
