The Opportunity

A well-established and expanding manufacturer in the medical device sector is looking to appoint an experienced Production Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive leader to take charge of operations across two key sites.



 



Key Responsibilities




  • Oversee production activities at both facilities, ensuring consistent performance and output.

  • Take ownership of Health, Safety, and Environmental standards across production.

  • Support and drive the development of production staff, focusing on performance, training, and engagement.

  • Ensure products are manufactured and delivered to meet customer expectations—on time, to spec, and at the right quality.

  • Maintain highly organised, clean, and efficient working environments with clear controls and compliance to internal and external standards.

  • Promote continuous improvement and operational efficiency through lean manufacturing principles.

  • Ensure all legal and regulatory Health & Safety obligations are met across both sites, including for visitors and contractors, supported by comprehensive risk and COSHH assessments.



 



Candidate Requirements



5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment



Experienced in a leadership or supervisory position



Extensive LEAN manufacturing experience



Demonstrated success in meeting production targets while improving quality, cost-efficiency, and productivity



Experienced in implementing 5S methodologies



Confident using key performance indicators to monitor results and implement changes—especially using clear, visible, shop-floor metrics



Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems



Skilled in managing departmental budgets, including labour, materials, maintenance, and capex



Understanding of quality systems



Strong grasp of health and safety practices in manufacturing, including COSHH compliance and risk management



 



The Package

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
