Our client is a well-established manufacturer of engineering equipment. They are seeking a Workshop Technician with skills in assembly and manual machining – milling and turning.
The Role
This is a varied role in which you will be involved in all stages of the manufacturing process, from machining / modifying components through to assembly, and finally inspection of finished instruments.
Responsibilities:
Machining components to tight tolerances.
Inspecting components made externally.
Assembling optical systems and mechanical assemblies.
Ensuring finished instruments conform to specifications.
Evaluating instruments returned for repair.
Completing and filing the necessary paperwork.
The Candidate
Experience using manual lathes and milling machines is essential
Engineering qualifications
Experience using a variety of machine and hand tools, such as: pillar drills, bench grinders, taps, and files
Experience using measuring equipment, such as: micrometers, callipers, and height gauges
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
The Package
Offering up to £30,000 per annum plus 25 days holiday plus bank holiday and strong pension contribution.
